Edun Spring/Summer 2014 RTW – New York Fashion Week
Graphics on the runway! The first practice of Danielle Sherman as the creative director forEdunturned out to be a real success, as theEdun spring/summer 2014 collectionproved duringNew York Fashion Week. The audience at the show was obviously pleased with her work. “Collaborating with Camilla Nickerson evolved naturally. She’s bold and direct and it feels right,” she stated backstage. We can see the proof of these words in each piece of the fab fashion line.
The main thematic concentration of the Edun spring/summer 2014 collection is around monochromy of black and white hues organized in graphical patterns and objects. On the other hand, we can see the shift towards some other shades in the pieces as well, while still sticking to the idea of being minimalistic and monochromic. This is demonstrated by a nice choice of orange shades, in some pieces put together with white. The shapes that were created for the pieces were also running around the main theme in spite of being fabulously diverse.
Straight and light pants with graphical representations and patterns followed the floor and knee length skirts at the Edun spring/summer 2014 runway show. Interestingly designed blazers were another perfect accompaniment to the concept of the collection. The black bandeau used in one of the pieces was nothing else but an excellent solution for the duet of the black blazer and black pants. The sleeveless tops created within the grey themes nicely put together with knee-length skirts or curious “graphic” pants were like the title of the collection.
The creative way of using the leather details put an additional accent on the chic of the Edun spring/summer 2014 collection. The slight shine of black leather on the white background made the black-and-white cells look really cute. You would also like the grey slipover joint with black pants in a very pretty way.
Thus in this collection we saw the blend of graphics with classic interpretations of the monochromic attitude accurately implemented by Danielle Sherman. Looking forward to seeing what’s coming next!
