About 80% of pregnant women recognize the proximity of childbirth by regular contractions and discharge of water.
How are children born? In the process of birth there are three periods that will be considered in detail.
1 period. Disclosure
Due to the involuntary periodic contraction of the muscles of the uterus, the cervix is opened. In the normal state of a woman, the length of the cervix is 3-5 cm, and the diameter is several millimeters. For childbirth, these figures vary significantly: the length of the cervix is shortened, and the diameter of the disclosure increases to 9-10 cm.multiparous.
At the beginning of this period, the contractions are repeated every 15 minutes for a duration of 15-20 seconds.In the process of cervical dilatation, contractions occur more frequently and with longer duration. When the contractions will be repeated at intervals of 10 minutes, you must go to the maternity hospital.
During the first period, it is recommended to walk, breathe properly, take a warm bath, ask for a lumbar massage, perform all actions aimed at reducing pain.
Most women argue that the first period is the most difficult and exhausting, so you need to prepare and adjust psychologically. The main thing to remember is that after a while everything will end, you will become a mother. After all, not only you feel bad, the child also wants to relive stress more quickly.
2 period. Childbirth
After the cervix has opened to the desired size, the doctor allows you to push, usually the woman herself feels the natural urge to push the baby. Such feelings of pushing out of the genital tract are called agitations.
Proper breathing and straining is very important for effective attempts. Before the attempts of the woman in labor, it is necessary to get as much air into the lungs as possible into the lungs, hold your breath and begin to push, without straining your face and legs.In the period between attempts, you need to relax as much as possible and prepare for new desires.
This period can last up to two hours, for multiparking this time is much less.
The baby begins to slowly move through the genital tract. At the peak of one of the attempts in the genital slit, you can see the baby's head. Under the action of regular attempts, the eruption of the head begins and it is seen very well. After that, there are only a few attempts until the appearance of the whole child.
And now the long-awaited moment has become reality, the woman is experiencing happiness, joy, a surge of new strength. Immediately after the birth of the child, they put it on the mother’s belly for dating and rest. After that, the child is taken in order to cut the umbilical cord, wash and make the necessary measurements.
How are children born? A newborn is usually born with a large head, short neck, short legs and a large body. The skin may be covered with a fat white substance that protects the skin from amniotic waters. Also, the skin can acquire a bluish tint that passes after 2 hours of birth.
Then the child is first applied to the breast of the mother.During this, the production of breast milk occurs, and the uterus is actively reduced, which allows residual clots to be released after giving birth.
3 period. Birth of the afterbirth
The placenta is the placenta and the membranes with the umbilical cord: the place where the baby developed during the whole pregnancy.
This period is the shortest, since usually the afterbirth is born 15-20 minutes after the period of delivery. It may be necessary for a young mother to work out a little. After that, the doctor sews up the breaks (if any). Spread on the belly of a hot-water bottle with ice and for several hours the doctors watch the state of the mother.
Possible complications and their danger:
- premature birth (discharge of waters before 37 weeks of pregnancy) - the birth of a child with pathologies;
- postponed pregnancy (more than 42 weeks of pregnancy) - dysfunction of the placenta, an increase in the size of the fetus;
- the cervical canal does not open, or opens too slowly - the delivery process takes longer, which is exhausting;
- disturbance of the fetal heartbeat - a threat to the life of the child;
- Difficult to leave the child's coat hangers - the doctors are trying to help the child out, or a cesarean section.
- uterine bleeding - dangerous for the life of the future mother;
- the entanglement of the child by the umbilical cord - the threat of choking the child.
Caesarean section is a surgical delivery operation in which the child is removed by cutting the abdominal wall and uterus. Currently, a fairly safe operation for mother and child.
