How to care for bees
The beginning of work begins on the first fine day, when the air warms up above +14 degrees. Take out the hives to the places prepared in advance and carry out a visual inspection of the bee colonies. You will see that some groups of insects fly around together, and some - sluggishly. The latter will probably need your help. Also on the first spring day, the bottom should be changed if the hive design allows it.
The next stage of work with bees begins in late April - early May. At this time, spring revision of bee colonies takes place. If necessary, the nests are transferred to clean beehives, replace unsuitable cells.
In the second half of May, the beekeeper must carry out a qualitative assessment of the queens, select the brood for the formation of new branches, expand the nests if necessary, and rearrange the hulls. Also carried out a veterinary examination of bees.
In June, there is another expansion of nests with honeycombs and frames with wax.If the need arises, then honey is pumped out before the main honey collection. Rejected weak bee colonies and unusable queen bees.
In late July - early August, the honey collection ends, and the nests begin to be pre-prepared for wintering. If the main honey collection has not stopped yet, then the frames with honey are prepared for pumping. Excess corps are removed, unnecessary cells are removed.
In the second half of August, bee nests are finally prepared for winter. Strong bee families can be left with full nests; for weak ones, nests are collected.
In the autumn, it is also desirable to treat bee families against varroatosis. To do this, you can use drugs such as "Bipin", "Tactician", "Akarasan."
