How to create a folder?

Having created a folder on your computer, you can store any files you need in it. And an invisible folder or, for example, a folder with a password will allow you to protect the information placed in it from prying eyes.

Create a regular folder

  1. Go to where you will create the folder (for example, on the desktop) and right-click on the free space.
  2. In the menu that opens, select the line "Create" and then "Folder".
  3. The corresponding icon will appear. Done!

Create a folder with a password

Before you create a password-protected folder, you need to right-click on the place where you are going to make it (for example, on the desktop) and select Create, and then Text Document.

  • After that, open the document and copy the following code into it:
    • cls
    • @ECHO OFF
    • title Folder Private
    • if EXIST "Control Panel. {21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" goto UNLOCK
    • if NOT EXIST Private goto MDLOCKER
    • : CONFIRM
    • echo the folder (Y / N)
    • set / p "cho =>"
    • if% cho% == Y goto LOCK
    • if% cho% == y goto LOCK
    • if% cho% == n goto END
    • if% cho% == N goto END
    • echo Invalid choice.
    • goto CONFIRM
    • : LOCK
    • ren Private "Control Panel. {21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
    • attrib + h + s "Control Panel. {21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
    • echo Folder locked
    • goto end
    • : UNLOCK
    • echo Enter password to unlock folder
    • set / p "pass =>"
    • if NOT% pass% == PASSWORD_GOES_HERE goto FAIL
    • attrib -h -s "Control Panel. {21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
    • ren "Control Panel. {21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" Private
    • echo Folder Unlocked successfully
    • goto end
    • : FAIL
    • echo Invalid password
    • goto end
    • : MDLOCKER
    • md private
    • echo Private created successfully
    • goto end
    • : End
  • Count on the 23rd line and instead of the words PASSWORD_GOES_HERE, enter the numbers or letters of your password.
  • Save the text document by assigning it the name locker.bat. Make sure that in the column "File type" was marked "All files".
  • Reopen the document. You will see that there is a new working folder called Private. Put what you need into it.
  • Run the locker.bat document again. A small black window will open asking you to confirm the desire to put a password on the folder. Press the English keyboard shortcut Y and Enter. The Private folder will disappear.
  • Now, to get into it, run each time your document locker.bat - a black window that you already know will appear, in which you will need to enter the password that was invented earlier and then press Enter.

How to create an invisible folder

If you do not want to put a password on the folder, but simply strive to make it invisible to prying eyes, then:

  1. Create a folder.
  2. Click on it with the right mouse button, select "Rename". After holding down the Alt key and on the separate numeric section of the keyboard, hold down Alt, type the numbers 2, 5 and 5. Release - the place for the folder name has become invisible.
  3. Now click on the folder icon with the right mouse button and select Properties and then Settings and Change Icon.Find the transparent label in the list and click "OK". The folder is out of sight. To find it, select an area with the left mouse button.

If there was no separate digital layout on the keyboard, then you can hide the folder in a different way:

  1. Create a folder.
  2. Click on its icon with the right mouse button.
  3. Select "Properties" and tick the box "Hidden".

To then find the folder, go the following way: "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Design and Personalization" - "Show hidden folders and files." At the very bottom of the window that opens, select "Show hidden folders and drives" and put a check mark next to it. After working with the folder, go back to this item - it will disappear. Just keep in mind that other users will also be able to find your invisible folder in the same way.
