How to install the DLE template?

After you have downloaded or purchased a site template, you still need to install it on CMS DLE. For professionals, this can not cause significant problems, but for beginner webmasters, this task can cause a lot of questions. In the article we will try to consider in more detail how to install the DLE template.

As a rule, the majority of free templates need more serious refinement or adaptation for a specific version of the engine. Also, such a template may contain hidden links to third-party resources that need to be redone to fit your own. If all these points have been successfully corrected by you, then you can proceed directly to the installation of the template itself.

  1. Installing a DLE template begins with placing your template in the templates folder.
  2. Next, you will need to go to the admin panel. There you will need to select "System Setup". At the very bottom of the page should be the setting "Default Site Template". In this case, the default will be used as the default.
  3. If you have found this option, then you will have to choose the name of your template from the list, then click on the “Save” button.

In order to evaluate the functionality of your template, you do not need to visit the admin panel. For these cases in DLE there is a block of change of design. It is in the left column, below, where you can select your template from the drop-down list, but in this case, when leaving the site, the template may assume the default view, namely Default.

We advise you to view the display of your template in different Internet browsers. Very often, templates can appear distorted in Opera or Internet Explore.
