DIY Stained Glass Paint
Creating stained glass windows is a very exciting process for both children and adults. As a rule, special stained glass paints and contours are used for stained glass. However, these paints can be made themselves. Of course, they are not suitable for painting dishes, but with such stained-glass windows you can decorate a mirror or a window for holidays and not only. And most importantly - the ingredients for creating paint for stained glass windows with your own hands will surely be found in your home. Materials: • Food coloring, acrylic paint or gel pens. • Brush. • • File. • PVA glue. • Desired picture. First we prepare a picture. We print or draw the chosen motif and place a sheet with a picture under the file. To create colors, we need to choose one of the options of the dye: gel pens, acrylic paints or food colorings. Your choice will not affect the quality of the stained glass, only the brightness and color range. In this example, acrylic paints are used. In a small container pour 2 teaspoons and squeeze the paint.Stir the mixture. For each color we create a separate mixture, but we do it in stages. As work and drying paint of past colors.Apply paint with a brush to a selected area of the picture. The paint should be applied a thick layer, because after drying it will become much thinner. This should be taken into account to prevent deformation of the pattern. If your chosen drawing goes without contours, then the principle of operation is this: draw all the details of one color, wait at least 4 hours, check if the paint has dried out and only then draw with colors of a second color and make the whole drawing according to this principle. This method is not bad, but it will take a lot of time. It will go faster with the outlines: Step 1 draws all the outlines, wait until the paint is completely dry and then paint over the parts with all the other colors of the paint. This is how the picture looks before the paint dries:But this is how it becomes after a day:Ready work can be transferred to the surface of a mirror or glass. To do this: gently remove the image from the file and apply to the degreased surface with the side that was on the file.
